Our Practitioners – Dominique Wynn, DPT

Welcome to Monmouth Beach Physical Therapy

My approach is one-on-one and hands-on. I look at how your body moves as a whole, not just where the pain is. That means assessing movement patterns, tissue restrictions, joint mobility, weakness, compensation, balance, and mechanics to understand what is contributing to the problem and what needs to change.

About Dr Dominique Wynn, DPT

My approach is one-on-one and hands-on. I look at how your body moves as a whole, not just where the pain is. That means assessing movement patterns, tissue restrictions, joint mobility, weakness, compensation, balance, and mechanics to understand what is contributing to the problem and what needs to change.

Treatment may include dry needling, manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular retraining, balance work, and movement-based rehabilitation. The goal is to reduce pain, improve mobility, restore function, and help you move with more strength, control, and confidence.

I treat a wide range of conditions, including orthopedic injuries, chronic pain, TMJ, post-surgical problems, sports injuries, repetitive-use injuries, and balance-related issues. Some people come in with a recent injury. Others have been dealing with the same problem for a long time and want a more careful evaluation and a more direct treatment approach.

With more than 20 years of clinical experience, I have treated patients across the lifespan, from infants to age 105, including professional, Olympic, and X-Games athletes. That range of experience helps me recognize both straightforward and more complex problems and choose treatment based on the individual.

I earned my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Southern California and have continued advanced training in dry needling, manual lymphatic drainage, myofascial cupping, advanced balance training, TMJ treatment, stroke recovery, post-surgical rehabilitation, pediatric care, sports and repetitive-use injuries, and movement-based analysis.

Some of my advanced trainings:

  • Dry Needling Certification: Trains practitioners in using thin needles to treat muscle pain and dysfunction by releasing tight muscle bands and decreasing trigger point activity.
  • Myofascial Cupping Practitioner: Involves using cups on the skin to create suction, which promotes blood flow, relieves muscle tension, and enhances recovery.
  • Manual Lymphatic Drainage Certification: Equips practitioners to perform techniques that help move lymph fluid to reduce swelling, detoxify the body, and improve overall immune function.
  • Titleist Performance Certification: Focuses on assessing and improving golf swing mechanics to enhance performance and prevent injuries specific to golfers.
  • Functional Movement Assessment Certification: Trains in assessing body patterns and movements to identify physical imbalances and areas at risk for injury, informing tailored exercise programs.
  • Stroke Rehabilitation Specialist: Specializes in therapeutic strategies to aid recovery from stroke, improving mobility, strength, and coordination while addressing neurological deficits.
  • Fall Prevention Specialist: Focuses on assessing risk factors and implementing strategies to prevent falls, particularly among the elderly, enhancing safety and mobility through balance training and environmental adjustments.
